Valor Health has 16 patient beds and will have a minimum of 8 acting patients arrive at the Hospital. The Hospital will then experience surge capacity training, receiving a patient total equal to half the hospital bed capacity. Local emergency response agencies will answer to and assist at the “accident” and transport actors to the hospital. This simulation will cover many hospital drills, including the CMS requirement to participate in a community-based mock drill, to ensure community-wide coordination during a disaster. During the simulation an extensive motor vehicle crash will be staged with actors playing patients. Valor Health has scheduled a motor vehicle accident simulation on Friday, from 8am-12pm. By imitating real-world events, simulation provides us with the opportunity to improve the safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of healthcare services provided through a safe and controlled learning environment. ![]() Over a year ago, Valor Health received a grant that helped bring healthcare simulation resources to our organization.
